Dr. Nadir SERİN graduated from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1991. Following his master's thesis studies on combustion instabilities encountered in the industry in the same department, he went to the USA with a scholarship he received within the scope of the doctoral program he attended and completed the experimental part of his doctoral thesis study, which included numerical simulations and experiments, at Pennsylvania State University. He also worked on a NASA project on the combustion modeling of hybrid rocket engines and received the Best Paper Award on Hybrid Rocket Engine Technology from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA-USA) with a joint publication he made in this context. He returned to Türkiye and completed his thesis and received his doctorate degree from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, METU in 2001. He taught courses at the M.S. and P.H. levels at Başkent University, Ankara and at the B.S. level at Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Ankara. He chaired sessions at scientific meetings, served as an academic board member and referee. He was a co-advisor for many students' M.S. theses. As the Coordinator of TEKNOFEST’23 Vertical Landing Rocket Competition, he organized and managed the entire competition. He retired from TÜBİTAK in 2024 and started his new position as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences, University of Kyrenia. Dr. Nadir SERİN has numerous national and international scientific publications and awards.
