In-Flight Training

Our school’s 2nd grade students and instructors Ülker Öner Çek and Naghmeh MAAŞOĞLU, who are studying in the Cabin Services department, went to Ercan Airport for in-flight training on 22.11.2024 at 08:00.

In order to reinforce the topics covered in the Emergency Situations and Safety Procedures course that our students took in the 2024-2025 academic term, in-flight training was carried out after the meetings and necessary permissions with the TRNC Civil Aviation Department and Pegasus Airlines. For this reason, in the A 320 aircraft belonging to Pegasus Airlines, aircraft maintenance technicians working at Istanbul Handling, accompanied by a Pegasus Official and a Civil Aviation Department airfield officer, all emergency equipment of the aircraft, galley layout, emergency lights, emergency exits, cabin-cockpit and passenger call systems, announcement system and information about opening and closing the doors in normal procedure were repeated and the subject was also supported visually.

Our students were also in the cockpit under the supervision of aircraft maintenance technicians and received information. Since the aircraft was on the apron for a limited time, all this information was conveyed to our students in approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and then they left the aircraft.

The feedback we received from the students is that seeing the subjects they learned in class visually and practically in the aircraft was very beneficial for them, it took more space in their minds and reinforced the subject. Therefore, it is thought that it is very important for these visits to be made every year for our students to have a better command of the subjects.
